How are you going to celebrate Earth Day?
Join us for a special work day for San Francisco Zoo Members only
on Saturday, APRIL 18th!
What better way to celebrate our planet than by helping to make it even more beautiful? Spend the morning enjoying the outdoors while helping native plants survive in their coastal habitat by removing the invasive species that keep them from thriving. This event is free to members and is for ages 10 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Join us for our "Party for the Planet" immediately following!
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

More about Renew the Zoo:
Renew the Zoo offers much more than just weeding or clean-up. (Although these tasks are very important to both the Horticulture Department and the Zoo, and have enabled us eliminate the use of harmful pesticides).
Involvement in Renew the Zoo also means:
¨ Meeting new people of diverse backgrounds who share your commitment to conserving the Earth’s plant and animal species
¨ Having the opportunity to share your expertise and develop new skills and interests
¨ Becoming part of San Francisco Zoo’s history (You don’t have to be a San Francisco resident; you just need to leave your heart here!)
¨ Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the Renew the Zoo program, where the only limit is your imagination.
Each Renew the Zoo day begins with a warm-up session to loosen up those muscles and get the blood flowing for the day’s activity Then you may find yourself planting, weeding, digging, raking, painting, picking up trash or pushing heavy wheelbarrows – all the while getting really, really dirty. But you’ll be rewarded for your hard work with refreshments and, of course, the warm feeling you’ll get from helping the Zoo and promoting conservation!
